Key Specifications
On the ground, that means this smartphone has a 6.5-inch HD+ IPS LCD for its display, the octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 processor for its engine. The device comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB built-in storage, which is expandable as per your need. On the back, the camera array consists of a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor plus on the front site is a 16MP front camera for awesome selfies. The device comes with an enormous 5000mAh battery that charges up with 18W fast charge. Realme UI 2.0, powered by Android 11, is the double mighty device's operating system for a smoother way to make the most out of a smartphone.
Performance
While its MediaTek Helio G80 processor isn't the most powerful chipset we've seen in 2024, it could tackle day-to-day duties while also being quite capable for a little light gaming. However, demanding mobile games or multitasking could result in users experiencing some slow down or loss of speed. While for the vast majority of users 4GB RAM is more than adequate, if you are a heavy multitasker, regularly switching between apps or running a lot of background processes, you need a higher RAM configuration.
Camera
The quad-camera of the realme 12 4G was good for its price range. In bright light, the 48MP main sensor took decent photos, with decent detail and colour accuracy. The ultra-wide lens helped me get wider scenes into the frame, and the macro lens helped me get up close with objects. In fact, we found the camera in general to be pretty noisy and grainy, even in low-light scenarios.
Battery Life
The 5000mAh battery was good for a full day of regular usage. It came with 18W fast charging tech, so charging was reasonably quick.
